Property Types and Price Bands
Asking prices in this area range from about 25,000 euro to 500,000 euro or more. Here is a rough idea of each price band.
Barns to convert - (Euro 25,000 - 50,000) These are disused agricultural buildings which need full reconstruction to make them into habitable properties. Generally these come with some land which can be made into a garden. Often a good option if you don't want to pay too much for a property and are willing to invest time and money to get what you want.
Village houses - Most properties in the area are located within villages. These tend to be priced from about Euro 30,000 - 120,000. The least expensive of these lack gardens, usually need some modernization, involve a walk from where you can park a car and have no convenient shop or bar. In general the fewer of these disadvantages they have the higher the asking price.
Apartments - Either converted village houses or purpose-built in towns. From about Euro 30,000 - 120,000.
Country Houses - with gardens, often a collection of outbuildings and gardens. Priced from around Euro 150,000 but the sky's the limit.
A Note on the Prices Listed
We list property at the price the seller is asking. We neither add a margin to the price to allow "room for negotiation", or advertise non-existent low prices to encourage viewing. Both of these are common practices among businesses selling Italian property to foreign buyers.
If you find a property we are offering listed elsewhere at a different price please let us know. We will investigate and will let you know the reason for this.
Prices are frequently negotiable but in Italy, as elsewhere, this totally depends on the seller. Property agents who claim prices are "usually negotiable" have either added a margin to the price, encouraged the vendor to ask for a higher price than they hope to achieve, or only provide a service to very compliant vendors!
